Bio
My name is Diego Fandos. I'm a Spanish filmmaker based in Prague, Czech Republic. I studied Journalism at the University of Navarra and Filmmaking at FAMU International.
I worked as a script analyst for Morena Films and Lolafilms in Madrid, and have served as a jury member at several film festivals. Since 2008, I have been a screenwriting professor at Prague Film School (www.praguefilmschool.cz).
I have written and directed TV commercials, documentaries, and the feature film Cosmos, which was presented at the San Sebastián Film Festival.
My recent short films — Under Pressure (2014), Aurora (2017), Tango (2024), and 29 de febrero (2024) — have been selected and awarded at more than 70 festivals worldwide. The shining stars of 29 de febrero are Ramón Barea and Zorion Eguileor (The Platform). Besides these two wonders, I have worked with actors such as Xabier Elorriaga, Maria Havrysevych, Javier Albalá, Ivan Shvedoff, Ester Geislerova, Jakub Kohák, Kryštof Hádek, and Helena Růžičková, as well as acclaimed directors of photography including Javier Agirre, Kiko de la Rica, Michael Brierley and Martin Štrba.
I have published two collections of short stories — Lemon Loves (2015) and Prague on February (2020) — as well as Writing for Short Film (2019, in English and Spanish), a handbook used in various educational institutions, including the Film Department at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
